What a perfect day. Great weather, magnificent scenery and fantastic company!
Leisurely commencement to the day with breakfast at 9.00am. There really is not a lot we can say about our day and will let the many pictures tell the story for you.
We have planned to continue further to the end of the Brecon Canal today with these two fabulous specimens of homo sapiens assisting us!
In our way we have five locks,
a tunnel,
a tunnel with an interloper,
inside the tunnel,
aqueducts
and five lift bridges. Oops, forgot to get a photo of a lift bridge – will get it on our return journey.
After an exhausting 2.5 hours of cruising we decided it was time to stop for a Sunday roast which is the standard task to do.
Found this beaut little pub which suited our needs.
The motley crew having the rum of the day.
Back to the helm to complete the remainder of the canal which took us a further four hours of cruising through an ever change of exemplary Welsh landscape. Finally pulled up around 6.30pm. As we had had our main meal back at The White Hart Inn it was just a matter of pulling into the basin for the evening.
We had an email from Joannie and Simon today and they were kind enough to send us some excellent photos of the girls. They are looking in great shape and seem most contented.
Our blog postings will be a little erratic as we do not appear to have great wifi coverage along this canal but that is the beauty of it’s remoteness. It can still be busy at times though with boats
and live stock.
Our location for the evening is in the basin at the termination point.
Di was very naughty and snuck around the end of the house and pinched a rose for our vase!!!
