Yuckville – 29th August 2022

After a leisurely breakfast and having filled up with water we chugged off down to the first of ten locks for today.

It was good to have the team back together again. We cruised very easily up all the locks in record time. Once up the top, we only had half an hour cruising until we got to Tesco to fill up the larder. The towpath along this portion of the canal was horridly filthy with big bags of rubbish and litter thrown everywhere. There was a team of volunteers cleaning up but it was going to take a long time to make it better.

We moored beside the Tesco where we will stay for the night. It is not the most salubrious of surroundings but the best moorings between here and London.  We have just received a notification from the Canal and River Trust to say there is a problem with one of the locks on the Regent Canal which we will be doing on Thursday. They have a team out to look at it tomorrow so we are hoping for some good news as this is very bad for us if we cannot do the Regents Canal.

Short post as not a lot happened. Just a lot of talking and laughing and catching up.
