Awoke and after a leisurely breakfast at our picturesque mooring we headed off to the city of Utrecht.

The weather is exquisite at 21c. The area we are cruising is obviously very affluent with many mansions on the canal.

We cruised about four hours enjoying the vista along the shoreline and contemplating just how many cleaners and gardeners were required for each of these stately homes.

We really did it rough today!!

Wolfgang has quite the collection of flags in his treasure chest and always accommodates any nationalities that come aboard. We think we are the most complicated of his guests.

We did pass a lot of these house boats which are fully fledged homes and some have gardens. The bedrooms are often below the water line with just small windows showing.

Utrecht is the fourth largest city in the Netherlands, as well as the capital and the most populous city of the province of Utrecht.

Utrecht has the largest bike parking facility in the world. It is a crazy place to walk around as you are constantly being assaulted by bikes wherever you walk. What we do find amusing is the number of people who ride e-bikes here which is odd as it is the flattest country in the world. All the non e-bikes don’t even have gears, so we just don’t get it.

Old Gilly moored up very central in the city.
Interior of main saloon of Old Gilly. It is very spacious and comfortable.
